The Club

The club „PADER JUMPERS“ was founded by 2 people from Berlin who wanted to bring Square Dance to Paderborn in 1977.

In the same year the first class was offered and 14 people joined in. Two of them are still members in addition to the founders. Among the founders was our caller Thorsten Geppert who has been calling for the Pader Jumpers since 1980. Meanwhile he is supported by our second caller Hans Kabierske.

At present the club has 87 members who get together for dancing every Thursday. As in other clubs activities such as weekend trips, festivals or trips to other clubs are offered in addition to the regular club nights.

Since 1984 the PADER JUMPERS have been hosting their annual special dance – the „Pader Rodeo“ in October. The club is happy to welcome numerous guests every year: 400 to 500 dancers are often the case. They are offered to dance to top callers often coming from countries such as the USA, Sweden, England and Australia. The Pader Jumpers are very fortunate that up to now Thorsten Geppert has always been one of this festival’s callers.

In 2002 the PADER JUMPERS celebrated their 25th anniversary with the guests of the Pader Rodeo.

The club’s plan for 2005 is to host the „STING CONVENTION“  - the first time in Germany – in Paderborn.
